Zain Aqdas
Founder and lead researcher, Scholarships Atlas
Zain Aqdas founded Scholarships Atlas and built its catalogue from official university, government and agency sources. He writes the guides on this site and checks funding details against each programme's published materials before they go out.
What the work involves
The catalogue is built from primary documents: university scholarship pages, ministry and agency announcements, and the portals that host the schemes themselves. Each record keeps a link to the page it came from, which is how a claim can be checked later without guessing.
Verification is a comparison between the record and the provider's own page: what the award covers, who can apply, what the deadline states and which documents are required. Where the provider publishes nothing on a point, the listing says so rather than estimating. That is the reason some records show an unspecified duration or deadline.
Records are re-checked on a weekly cycle, and deadlines that have passed are flipped to closed automatically so the catalogue does not keep advertising a cycle that ended. The guides follow the same rule: they are checked against the programme's published materials, and the page shows when that check happened.
