A set of subject-area scholarships recognizing academic excellence at Alexander College, one per discipline per major term on a rotating basis (Norman Swartz Philosophy, English, Biology, International Studies, Computing Science, Film Studies, Commerce, History, Chemistry, EAP, Psychology, Communications, Physics, Sociology, Peter Kennedy Economics, Math and French). Each recipient receives $1,200 following the term, in the form of a tuition credit unless the student has no upcoming tuition, in which case a cheque is provided.

Academic Requirements

  • Awarded to the strongest students within each subject area in each major term (Fall, Winter, Spring) at Alexander College. Recipients must exhibit academic excellence within the respective subject area, a strong attendance record, and a minimum CGPA of 2.67 in at least 9 credits (credit requirement waived for EAP scholarships). Students cannot apply — they must be nominated by their course instructor at the conclusion of the relevant term. A student cannot receive more than one academic scholarship in the same term.
