Berea College No-Tuition Promise for International Students

Verified·Official source checked·Last verified: 31 October 2026
Berea College🇺🇸 United StatesDeadline: 30 November 2026, 00:00

Berea College has charged no tuition since 1892: every admitted international student receives financial aid and scholarships covering 100% of tuition, housing, food, and fees, with no loans. Through the required Work Program (10+ hours/week, most international students earning over $2,000 per school year) students contribute toward personal expenses; a one-time $2,200 enrollment deposit is required to confirm admission and receive the I-20, with additional financial aid available for those unable to pay it. Starting Fall 2027 the guarantee extends to 100% of tuition, housing, food, fees, and supplies for all students. Admission is extremely competitive — fewer than 40 new international students enroll each year.
