Caltech Need-Based Financial Aid for International Students

Verified·Official source checked·Last verified: 31 October 2026
Caltech (California Institute of Technology)🇺🇸 United StatesDeadline: 4 January 2027, 00:00

Caltech is committed to meeting the full demonstrated financial need of all admitted students, with need-based aid covering the full cost of attendance — tuition, housing, dining, books, fees, and personal expenses. The Institute is need-aware for international students because international aid funds are limited, which may make financial need a factor in admissions decisions for international applicants. International students must apply for aid at the time of admission (as incoming first-years); those who do not apply for or receive first-year aid cannot apply later, with limited exceptions for Canadian and Mexican citizens. All Caltech scholarships and grants are need-based — the Institute has no merit aid program.
