Academic Requirements

  • ETH Zurich supports excellent Master’s students (no MAS) with the Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP): a scholarship, mentorship and a network of the ETH Foundation. The scholarship covers the full study and living costs during the Master’s degree course: living and study expenses (CHF 12,000 per semester, from HS27 onwards 13,500 CHF) as well as a tuition fee waiver. Awarded for the regular duration of the Master’s programme (three or four semesters). Requirements: very good result in Bachelor’s degree programme (top 10% = grade A, self-assessed). Not eligible: students already enrolled in a Master’s at ETH Zurich or holding a Master’s degree. Apply within the first application window November 1-30; approximately 60 ESOP scholarships assigned for 2027/28; decisions communicated end of March.
