The Rising Star Scholarship recognizes a young international nonimmigrant woman studying at Indiana University Bloomington who demonstrates emerging potential. Awarded every other year at the International Women's Day Conference in honor of Yaolin Wang, it seeks a student building her future through involvement and engagement at IU, with a deep desire to improve life at IU by helping others. Students cannot apply directly — nomination is by an IU faculty or staff member.
