Verified·Official source checked·Last verified: 24 September 2026
Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM) / China Scholarship Council / Wuhan University of Technology🇨🇳 ChinaDeadline: 31 March 2026, 00:00

The MOFCOM Scholarship (商务部奖学金) is the Chinese Ministry of Commerce's degree programme for developing countries — formally the 援外高级学历学位教育专项计划, running since 2015 and administered by the China Scholarship Council — and WUT is a partner university, recruiting for English-taught master's (three academic years) and doctoral (four academic years) study. Candidates apply through the commercial section of the Chinese embassy or consulate in their own country (the 2026 deadline was 2026-03-31), must be non-Chinese nationals of a developing country under 45 in good health with a bachelor's degree for master's or a master's degree for doctoral study, hold a government section-chief or equivalent or senior-management position (academic staff of universities and research institutes also qualify), have IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL 80 or better English, and must not already be enrolled under another Chinese government scholarship. The award waives tuition and the related academic fees, provides free campus accommodation, a living allowance of 36,000 RMB a year (master's) or 42,000 (doctoral), a 3,000 RMB one-off settlement allowance, comprehensive medical insurance and free international air tickets including home-visit trips for programmes of two or more years, with an annual review to keep the full award.
