The Morton-Finney Scholars Award is a merit-based scholarship Butler has given for more than 30 years, honoring Dr. John Morton-Finney, an African American alumnus. It is listed among Butler's International Gift Aid options for students not eligible for US federal aid. Recipients join the Morton-Finney Scholars Program through the Efroymson Diversity Center — cohort meetings, community service, and monthly journal reflections — and must demonstrate strong academic rigor plus a commitment to fostering inclusion and valuing different perspectives.
