University of Illinois Scholarships for International Students (Urbana-Champaign)

For international students at UIUC, financial aid is generally limited to institutional aid programs and outside scholarships — federal and state aid requires citizenship or permanent residency. The university awards over 1,500 scholarships annually; international students may be eligible for scholarships awarded by academic colleges or departments, with no separate application for most — the department or college reviews the admission file and academic records to select recipients. Graduate students' admission applications ensure consideration for all fellowships and assistantships, and campus fellowships include a waiver of tuition and selected fees.
