SI Scholarship for Global Professionals (Sweden): How to Apply
The Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals (SISGP) funds professionals for a fully funded, one- or two-year English-taught master's in Sweden. The process has two stages and two separate online applications. First, and in advance, you apply to eligible Swedish master's programmes through University Admissions. Later you apply for the SI scholarship itself through SI's own portal. Eligibility is limited to citizens of about 34 countries.
Administered by: Swedish Institute (SI), the Swedish public agency for international relations

Application — step by step
- 1
Apply to Swedish master's programmes at University Admissions
First, apply to Swedish programmes through the University Admissions portal during its application period (for the 2026/27 round: 16 October 2025 to 15 January 2026). List the programmes you want; only programmes on the official SI-eligible list count.
- 2
Check the eligible-programmes list
The SI publishes the list of eligible master's programmes and the SI scholarship application documents on its page, typically by mid-November before each round. Make sure the programmes you applied to are on it.
- 3
Apply for the SI scholarship on SI's own portal
In a separate step, submit the SI scholarship application on apply-scholarships.si.se. The portal is open for only two weeks each round (for 2026/27: 9-25 February 2026, closing 14:59 CET on the final day).
- 4
University admissions announcement
Swedish universities announce admissions (for 2026/27: 26 March 2026). You must be admitted (or conditionally admitted) to an eligible programme on this first admissions day; reserve-listed programmes cannot be considered.
- 5
SI selection & scholarship announcement
The Swedish Institute evaluates eligible applications and announces the scholarship recipients (for 2026/27: 23 April 2026).
- 6
Begin study in Sweden
Awarded scholars begin their master's in the autumn semester and join the SI Network for Global Professionals.
